A 1.2 mile walking trail from 4th Street Downtown Winston-Salem, passing Old Salem and ending in the Salem Creek Trail.

Tanglewood Park offers many beautiful walking trails as well as mountain bike trails, dog park, camping grounds, golf and goft golf, an aquatic center and more. During the Christmas time, it is famous for its Festival of Lights. 

The former Piedmont Quarry is now filled with water and an overlook pier allows for beautiful views over the quarry. The park also features various Walking Trails, a beautiful Playground, Pollinator Garden, Picnic Benches etc.

A park with 3 to 4 miles of paved trails, shelters, playgrounds, and fields for various sports like volley ball and baseball.

A brand new section of trail which runs along Hwy 158 in Bermuda Run was just completed in 2023.   

A park with mountain bike trails but also allows for flying radio-controlled drones and model airplanes, racing model cars etc.

The Stuart & Emma Thompson Memorial Trail consists of a trail system with three beautiful short trails amongst rolling grassy hills in the middle of Winston-Salem. 

Cascade Preserve offers a walk in the forest with various creek views. 

The trail system is moderate in difficulty and approximately 2 miles long.

Old Salem is a historic district in Winston-Salem, NC. This settlement was founded by Moravians settlers and the buildings reflect the Germanic traditions of its founders. This beautiful part of town is now a living history museum. 

The Innovation Quarter is a rapidly growing and changing district in downtown Winston-Salem. It transformed from an industrial, Tobacco manufacturing district to a district aimed of fostering technological advances combined with urban living spaces.

German-speaking Moravians founded this settlement in1753; the first Moravian settlement in North Carolina. This Historic Landmark aims to preserve this heritage with various buildings along with the grounds, gardens, events, and an extensive trail system. The medicinal garden is the country's oldest.

This trail of about 2 miles runs along  parts of an abandoned railway and through the Innovation Quarter. From Martin Luther King Jr Drive to the Salem Creek Greenway. 

Muddy Creek Greenway is a 2.9 mile-long, paved trail that runs along the Muddy Creek from Country Club Road and ends near Jefferson Elementary with the bridge connecting it to the Summerfield community.

This amazingly beautiful park features two walking loops. The lower loop encircles a small lake with a fountain allowing for fishing and the upper loop is a beautiful tree lined walkway.

This Greenway consists of several short trails around the Davie Medical Center in Bermuda Run, NC.

A beautiful lake with short walking trails, benches, playground, fishing, volleyball court, rowing boat & paddle boat rentals. 

Salem Creek Greenway runs along the Salem Creek from the Marketplace Mall all the way to the Salem Lake.

This beautiful arboretum and the various gardens are located inside the Tanglewood Park. A variety of small gardens can be visited ranging from formal garden, a children garden to wildflower garden among other such as native plants etc.

A paved walking trail of about 3/4-miles loops around the small but beautiful Village Point Greenway in Clemmons. Also a fishing pier allows for some fishing in the stocked lake.

Bailey Park is a small park in the heart of the Innovation Quarter of Winston-Salem.

The Yadkin River Nature Trail consists of various trails inside the Tanglewood Park. They run along the Yadkin River and one can admire nature and observe some wildlife.

The Farmington Park is a small park in Mocksville, NC. Amongst its features are a Hiking trail through open field, woodland and wetlands as well as mountain bike trails, a golf disc course, and a picnic shelter.

The former Reynolda Estate features stunning Gardens including a green house and nature trails as well as the beautiful Reynolda Village with numerous shops and restaurants and then the historic Reynolda House which is home to the Reynolda House Museum of the American Art.

This little hidden gem is part of Tanglewood Park. It features short unpaved walking trails with a small pond, a beautiful creek as well as a log cabin, a small stone cabin.

A trail of about 7 miles surrounds the Salem Lake making it popular for bicyclists as well as runners. Also a marina with boat rentals and a fishing pier as well as a playground among other features.

This beautiful park has a 0.6 mile walking trail with exercise stations, a playground, picnic tables, a pavilion, a large multi-purpose field as well as horseshoe pits and bocce ball courts.

Davie County Community Park is a beautiful park with various indoor and outdoor facilities including short walking trails, splash pad, playgrounds, and fitness course etc.  

Downtown Winston-Salem is worth exploring on foot.
