Land of Oz

Autumn at Oz Festival

The Land of Oz is a 1970s theme park sitting on top of Beech Mountain in North Carolina. The park is based on the "Wonderful World of Oz" book and the "The Wizard of Oz" movie.

Nowadays, it opens its doors for visitors for three weekends each year for the Autumn at Oz Festival.

After a ride on the skilift (or bus shuttle) to the top of Beech Mountain, you will start an immersive experience. The journey takes you from Kansas through the twister and then down the Yellow Brick Lane to Emerald City where you will meet the wish-granting Wizard of Oz.

As you accompany Dorothy on her journey, you get the chance to meet and interact with the various characters such as the Scarecrow and the Tin Man. You get to admire not only the colorful recreation of Dorothy's experience but also the natural beauty of Beech Mountain and its absolutely stunning scenic views.

It is a beautiful experience all around but see for yourself...
